Questionable Origins

If any of you have seen the Stargate Atlantis episode "The Lost Boys" imagine this in McKay's tone when he says "What's it made out of--bark?"

This was born out of me and my brothers joking around about the obvious Civil War parallels in the Firefly universe. And of course, since Joss Whedon clearly holds sympathies for the Confederacy (nothing wrong with that) he simply must hail from one of the northern states, preferably as far north as possible, because... um, it makes sense.

Don't ask me, then, why I didn't pick Alaska. Oh wait...
